Residents are set to enjoy a new addition to the Olympia-Wellington area’s shopping scene—Lotis Wellington.
One of the most significant additions to the community in recent years, this mixed-use development is slated to rise on a 64-acre parcel just north of Wellington Regional Medical Center and is expected to draw in investors from all over Palm Beach County. It is being developed by the Lotis Group, with the construction divided into three phases. Phase 1 is currently underway and is slated for completion within 18 to 24 months.
LOTIS WELLINGTON: WHAT TO EXPECT
After several consultations with the Wellington Village Council, here’s a concrete list of what we can expect from Lotis Wellington so far:
- The Square at Lotis Wellington is set to be the primary retail area in the development, with spaces for shops, restaurants, as well as offices and medical services. The Square will also feature a three-level parking garage. According to the Lotis Group, Olympia-Wellington area residents and visitors alike can start shopping and dining at The Square by the end of the year.
Breaking it down, The Square at Lotis Wellington will feature approximately 42,000 sq. ft. of dining options, 12,000 sq. ft. of retail space, 60,000 sq. ft. dedicated to medical offices, and 13,000 sq. ft. for offices.
- More housing options: The Wellington Village Council approved the Lotis Group’s plans to add over 540 luxury residences to the local housing market. These will include townhomes, apartments, and single-family homes and will be divided into two areas located near The Square. Initially, the Lotis Group intended to develop over-55 housing units at Lotis Wellington. They eventually changed plans to accommodate people who are expected to work at The Square.
- Community amenities: Lotis Wellington is planned to have a massive 12,000 sq. ft. clubhouse spanning two levels. On top of that, the mixed-use community will also have an 18-acre lake surrounded by a greenway lined with fitness stations, a fenced public dog park for Wellington’s canine residents, and a cypress preserve that will cover around three acres.
“I am proud to welcome this exciting new development into our community. Lotis Wellington offers new live, work, and play options that will undoubtedly enhance Wellington,” Mayor Anne Gerwig said in a statement according to The Town-Crier. “The open space and greenway will be a wonderful addition to our parks and offer all residents a place to relax and recreate,” she added.
