Located in between Boca Raton and Palm Beach, the chic beachside town of Gulf Stream is a charming and intimate locale featuring some of the finest and most luxurious seaside estates available in Palm Beach County. With a population of just over 700, Gulf Stream maintains an exclusive and private atmosphere that has made it a favorite of discriminating and affluent home purchasers.
Residents of this exclusive community enjoy surroundings of incomparable natural beauty. This becomes clearly evident as you drive down A1A and soak-in the remarkable ambience of its verdant Australian Pine canopies that extend and envelop you on your journey. Elegant estates with parcels that extend from pristine white-sand beaches to the glorious Intracoastal Waterway are the rule in Gulf Stream along with a quiet residential lifestyle and unrivaled quality of life.
Gulf Stream’s close proximity to Delray Beach’s vibrant Atlantic Avenue district provides Gulf Stream residents easy access to a host of shopping, restaurants, museums, art galleries and exciting nightlife options.
The History of Gulf Stream
The area that was to be known as Gulf Stream was a largely undeveloped slice of paradise until the town was incorporated in 1925 along with the famous world-class Gulf Stream Golf Club in the previous year. The town and club earned its moniker from the Gulf Stream current which flows along the Florida coast and Palm Beach County.
The 1920’s and 1930’s saw a boom of stunning architecture and development with notables such as Howard Major, Maurice Fatio, Marion Sims Wyeth and John Volk providing their legendary architectural expertise in the construction of some of the most elegant and outstanding estates ever to be seen on Florida’s celebrated Gold Coast. Many of these extraordinary homes are still in existence today and are truly a marvel to behold.
Gulf Stream continued to flourish and expand along with its local amenities and offerings and due to its burgeoning popularity, strict and comprehensive design guidelines were implemented to safeguard the unique and intimate luxury character the town enjoys to this day.
Gulf Stream Estate Properties
